Les Misérables | Commercial Photography

If I haven’t warned you yet, there may be quite a few Les Mis posts. That’s because I am not only creating photos for the Hickory Community Theatre’s PR efforts and marketing for the show, I am also IN the show! I was cast as the tragic Fantine and my sweet hubby is playing Valjean.

I’m more than a little excited. 🙂

But I digress. The topic of creating a little Cossette image like they did for the movie was tossed around and we decided to do it. Above is Emily, our little red-headed Cossette. If I’m not mistaken, her little face will grace our posters as well as — eventually — the theatre’s facebook and webpage. I’m sure we’ll find some other uses for it as well, but I am just pleased with how it turned out.

We shot this one night before rehearsal just inside the door of the theatre. Emily’s mom grabbed some wet mulch from the flower beds outside and dirtied her daughter up and we mussed up her hair a bit. Her mom was standing just outside of the shot with a hair dryer to get that movement in her hair. 🙂

Come check out little Cossette (and me, her dying mum)! We open May 9th and tickets are already selling like hot cakes.
